Doubtless many of you will have seen the recent negative publicity surrounding our city. The Lonely Planet Guide nominated Wolverhampton as being in the top five worst cities. Having never visited Wolverhampton to experience our excellent art gallery, the abundant greenery of West Park or our magnificent architecture, this nomination can more easily be seen for the nonsense it is (we were beaten into 5th place by Los Angeles).
More seriously, you will have seen publicity from the British Property Federation’s Report which lists Wolverhampton as the city with the most empty retail units. The reality is that one third of these units are within the footprint of the planned Summer Row development. Along with the developers and our partners, we are working hard to deliver a funding solution to ensure the swiftest possible delivery of this important scheme.
Wolverhampton has much going for it. There is no better time than now for citizens, officials and businesses of our city to shout loud and proud about all that Wolverhampton has to offer.
